The Ford F-Series is the bestselling truck in America for the last 44 years and counting - and in the F-Series lineup, Super Duty trucks are the toughest and most capable of them all. Check out what's new for the 2022 model year and how the Ford Super Duty's powerful engines, off-road performance, and high-tech features make it stand out.

What's New for 2022?

Ford never stops innovating and improving its products, and for 2022, the Ford Super Duty is more advanced than ever before. It has a new and bigger touch screen running the latest SYNC® 4 software as well as available wireless smartphone integration.

Other new features include fresh exterior and interior color options and a Lariat Sport appearance package that help you stand out even more than before.

Three Workhorse Engines

The 2022 Ford Super Duty has the power you need to get the job done - and then some. With three exceptional engines, each more capable than the last, the Super Duty achieves strong numbers in all the categories that matter.

The F-250 and F-350 both come standard with a gasoline-powered, 6.2-liter V8 rated at 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a TorqShift® G six-speed transmission in the F-250 and a 10-speed automatic in the F-350, this engine's strength is its high torque output throughout the midrange of the power band. In other words, it never stops pulling.

Even more impressive is the new 7.3-liter overhead-valve V8 engine. With 430 horsepower, it delivers the best gas power ratings in its class.[1] It's also optimized for low-end torque, cranking out 475 lb-ft to help you meet all of your towing needs.

Finally, the 2022 Ford Super Duty is available with a 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel that, quite simply, blows the socks off the competition. With its 36,000-psi fuel-injection system and ultra-strong construction, it delivers an incredible 1,050 lb-ft of torque at only 1,600 rpm. It also produces more horsepower than any other engine at 2,600 rpm.[1]

Exceptional Capability

All three engines offered in the 2022 Ford Super Duty are powerful, but does all of that power translate to good hauling and towing capacities? Absolutely. Thanks to a high-strength steel frame and TorqShift® automatic transmission specially designed to handle massive torque loads, the Ford Super Duty is your go-to truck whenever you need to move a small mountain.

With the 7.3-liter V8, the Ford Super Duty delivers best-in-class conventional towing up to 21,000 pounds as well as best-in-segment fifth-wheel and gooseneck towing of up to 19,500 pounds.[2][3]

For even more capability, the Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel boosts the 2022 Ford Super Duty's max conventional towing capacity to 24,200 pounds[4]. And if that's still not enough, fifth-wheel and gooseneck towing push the Super Duty's maximum towing capacity to 32,500 and 37,000 pounds, respectively.[5] You'll be hard-pressed to find something you can't tow.

As for hauling, the 2022 Ford Super Duty stands above the rest. It has a maximum payload rating of 7,850 pounds[6], better than any heavy-duty truck, in part thanks to its exceptionally stiff frame and strategic use of lightweight materials.

Work Done Smart

Driving an 8,000-pound truck with up to 37,000 pounds in tow is not easy. Fortunately, the 2022 Ford Super Duty bolsters its hardworking capabilities with features that help drivers get the job done more safely and easily. For example, the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System with Pro Trailer Backup Assistâ„¢ makes it easier than ever to reverse with a trailer. Just turn a knob to make the trailer will go where you want in a more intuitive way than using the steering wheel. Other awesome features include 360-degree cameras and a special, high-mounted center camera that gives you a better view of your fifth-wheel or gooseneck hitch for easier hooking up.

Work Hard, Play Hard

The 2022 Ford Super Duty is available with a Tremor Off-Road Package that gives it tremendous off-road capability. Offered in Super Duty 4x4 Crew Cab trucks equipped with either the 7.3-liter V8 or Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel engines, this trail-conquering package includes 35-inch all-terrain tires and custom 1.7-inch twin-tube dampers. It also features a convenient Trail Control™ technology that essentially acts like low-speed cruise control, letting you focus on the steering to get around obstacles. Combined with best-in-class water fording (33 inches) and approach angle (31.7 degrees), the Ford Super Duty is the best truck to have at hand when you're looking to have fun after a hard day's work.

Advanced Infotainment and Safety

For all of its rugged appeal and industry-leading capability, the 2022 Ford Super Duty has an impressively premium feel. High-end models feature beautiful, soft-touch leather upholstery, and SuperCab and Crew Cab models have just as much interior passenger space as you might expect in a large SUV.

The Super Duty also comes with all of the latest infotainment technologies including a new 12-inch color touch-screen display, over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone connectivity, and even the Amazon Alexa smart assistant.

And with the Ford Co-Pilot360â„¢ suite of driver-assist features, which includes automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and cross-traffic alert technologies, the 2022 Ford Super Duty is continuously working hard to keep you and your family safe.
